The reason we are playing the Giants is cause they finished 3rd in the East. It could have been the Eagles we were gonna play if the Giants won their last game.
As it is, playing the Giants in London isn't much worse than playing them in LA this year. There are a ton of Giants fans in LA, and many more would fly to LA for the game, so the HFA wouldn't be so great.
Sure they're would be Giants fans, but not anymore then the bandwagon Hawks fans that somehow found their way into the coliseum and they were hardly noticeable ...
70,000 season tickets pretty much ensures there will be a ton more Rams fans then any other teams fans... There is typically 5,000 to 10,000 tickets on the open market available to the away teams fans.
The game being in London is a huge disadvantage as opposed to being home in LA.... Unfortunately Stan agreed to these games while he was still in STL. I think he opted out though so it will be awhile before we have to go back I hope.
I think Stan agreed to the London games as part of his strategy to move the team. I hope he opted out for next year especially if the Rams make the playoffs this year.
I remember going to the Rams-Giants game in the Big A in 1989 and there were a lot of Giants fans there. Guess that has changed with the reinvigorated fan base. Not sure what Kroenke can do to ensure that the Rams have some semblance of HFA over the Giants. Would hate to think that the Giants are viewed as the preferred team in London.
