but he missed several throws today. And I don't want to rain on the cheerio's but a better QB and this probably isn't as close of a game.

I have absolutely no problem giving him the game ball but it could go to others... Quick had two really nice TDs and one was absolutely clutch. Big time pass and catch. Or the defense...

If Keenum would use his legs more then I think he might find a niche for himself. And I think it would help open things up.

Well, to umbrella the rain away from the cheerios, first---

---he's not a starting caliber qb as everyone knows. He's a placeholder originally signed as a #2 type.

And so, given that, I don't watch every game and get surprised by his limitations. If he didn't have limitations he would already be someone else;s starter.

So I never look at it like that. The "well how effective was he actually" thing. Everything we get from him is gravy. And given all that he was effective enough to be a good #2 type, but also, competitive and poised enough to throw for 60% and 266 yards (8.9 YPR) with 2 TDs and zero INTs plus a qb rating of 111.2--all on the road against a division rival....and all without a running game (or rather, without one that's gaining yards.)

He has this knack of playing both within himself and now and then (and just often enough) above himself at the same time. He makes plays. Not like clockwork but they're there. He's a scrapper, a fighter, and a gamer, and finds a way.

So if a race car driver borrowed my old pick-up truck to drive the store and afterward complained that the ride was not as fine-tuned as he was used to, I wouldn't say to myself "yeah it's not a very good truck."

No one is threatening to keep Goff on the bench until his contract runs out. He's the Rams future, and sooner rather than later.

But still I can celebrate a real scrap artist like Keenum when he helps deliver a win.

And yeah if they had a more gifted qb they would win more and win more smoothly. But that's coming. And when he does start, I hope the More Gifted Guy has Keenum's heart and head. That would be something.
