He was talking about Goff enjoying being #2 last week and said he'll be ready again this week.
Fisher also said that there is still a gap between Case and Goff in terms of running the offense but its closing.
No talk at all about Mannion. Draw your own conclusion.
Then Fisher went into the reasons why in his view the rookies QBs were starting and Goff wasn't.
Fisher said 4 rookie QBs are starting this week either due to injury or trades. And that they wouldn't be starting if the original vet starters were available. And that he is happy with Case right now doing the job. He said if Bradford was still there, then Sam would be the starter. The hosts, Clayton and Kirwan, didn't press Fisher on how well Wentz has played.
It is funny how people and the media sensationalize "four other rookie QB's are starting" without taking anything into context. What Fisher said is easy to see for anybody who has there eyes open.
As far as Mannion, I don't think he was ever part of the equation- he is exactly what they drafted him to be- a solid back up for the next ten years. As long as Goff is progressing he will be the #2 until he is the #1
I'm hoping he takes over by the Bills game, but if they're winning with Case, I won't mind him waiting a little longer.
The hosts were very sweet to Fisher. They never pushed him at all on Goff. Fisher started in on the 4 rookies, they just said yup.
I do agree that their plan is for Mannion to be a backup at best for them.
