I'm talking about the how much responsibility you can reasonably place on coaches vs. the player in how quickly and effectively they pick up offenses. If Goff had been a late round pick, nobody would be accusing the coaching of sabotaging his ability to pick up the offense and get on the field at this point. Indeed, we saw no such narratives about the coaches and Mannion last season, did we? The only reason we see it now is because some people are either unwilling or unable to apply the same accountability to Goff as they do to other QB's, such as Mannion, for their progress.

I want and need Goff to be great just as much as anybody else here. And I happen to think he has some great qualities that could get him there. But I'm not going to blame everybody and everything else if he doesn't figure out an NFL offense.
