The Whiners featured ONE safety for much of the second half, and I can't recall a single long throw. Press man to man with a single safety over the top, and we just kept throwing 3-5 yard outs and bubble screens. Once in awhile we got wild and crazy and ran a crossing pattern and thew it 8-10 yards down the middle, but that was pretty rare. Just as Young was saying towards the end of the game, the Whiner D perceived ZERO threat of a deep ball and they seemed to be right, because I don't think a single one was attempted I could be wrong, maybe there were one or two, but they dared them to throw it deep and it obviously worked out well for them throwing a shutout.
It should be interesting to see how much single safety the Whiners play in Carolina...I'm thinking that gameplan is gonna be a little different.
