None of us share in the locker room, film room or coaches mtgs. So there is a LOT we don't know.
However, we do know a few things. The key (IMHO) seems to be Fish's perspective of "patience." Although I agree with the sentiment, it is still a tough pill to swallow. In affect, Snisher bet the farm o this years (current) #3 QB. The simply drove up the price of a #1 pick. It is one thing to trade all that capital for someone who show's themselves capable of being a franchise QB by starting day 1.
Goff needs to become at least a middling NFL starter, and I think he needs to start no later than next year. I'm reasonably fine with Keenum being our QB this year, but Goff needs to show an ability to grasp the NFL game (complexity & speed). Without hindsight this is a gamble.
Having said all this, Goff has IMHO show some NFL ability. I wish him, and our team, a prosperous future!
