Better pass protection would definitely help and the personnel seems better than it has in a while. Maybe that will be enough but I have my doubts. The predictability of the Fisher offense is also a big problem and has put the whole offense in bad positions more than a lack of talent has.
As far as throwing the ball deep, the percentage of times that the Rams do it isn't really the issue and very misleading. Since they don't pass like a modern offense, the percentages are thrown out of whack. When Keenum isn't even attempting 30 passes per game, the percentage of times he goes deep become irrelevant. I don't understand why it keeps being pointed to as any kind of indicator.
The point being addressed is the lack of arm strength and lack of intermediate and deep threat Keenum offers. Which is virtually none.
