I don't recall any claims of pro-capable but maybe they were out there. I was under the very distinct impression that Goff was the target and choice for the Rams at QB because he was the most pro-ready and could come in and give the Rams a better option relatively quickly. Essentially right away. That was the whole point of moving up. Goff had a big upside but was the most pro ready. Wentz and Lynch were both projects with less clear potential. Lots of physical tools and size but too much was needed to get them ready for the NFL.
Goff is a big disappointment for me because I was under the impression that he wasn't a project like the others and the cost was spent to avoid that delay in getting a new QB on the field and producing.
