were a couple of things....
1) that Goff would progress and get better as the pre-season went along. Get more reps, become more familiar with the offense, get used to live game speed, more comfortable under center, and see the field and read the defense easier.
2) that Goff needed to spend some time with the 1's, behind our best O-Line.
Well, this was the last pre-season game, and other than Austin and Gurly, he got to play with the 1's, and behind our starting O-Line. I think the reality that hit us in the face last night is how far away from being "ready" he really is. His first drive was really good. But then he just showed throughout the rest of the first half a lot of things that show that he is still, somewhat lost out there.
I was not for trading up to get Goff, but also, I think that we are going to have to be patient with his development, and that.... I was not anticipating coming out of the draft.
