I have no doubt that part of the reason that some were cut today, and others have been kept but will be cut a week from now, has to do with Preseason game 4.
That is, they need a certain complement of players to avoid playing starters or injured guys that they don't want to play.
So while for some they are going to get one more chance to show something, for others it is mostly logistics and a numbers game, and the Rams already know who they'll keep. I'd be willing to wager that they know who at least 51 of the 53 are right now. At most they are undecided about no more than a couple of guys. And, injuries happen in the final Preseason game as well and they want to have some insurance just in case.
I still think we're going to see the Rams pick up a WR from another team, and maybe a FS. Not for depth, but for starting or rotation.
I expect Keenum to not play at all, just about zero 1st teamers on either side of the ball, and for Goff and Mannion to probably get a half, each.
I doubt we'll even see guys like Cunningham or Easley play.
Further, this means for the time being that they will have 6 (maybe even 7) WRs (since Marquez, Cooper and Spruce are gimpy), and as I said, I think one will come from another team's cuts or a trade.
