Nevertheless there are THREE important things to consider.
1. Fisher helped double the franchise value of the Rams ... moving to Los Angeles added a minimum of $1-Billion to the net worth of the Rams. What businessman in his right mind will show no gratitude to the person that helped earn him a quick billion (or two)? Furthermore ... is the transition complete? (they are not exactly in their new house yet)
2a. Being a wine nerd and a Rams fan ... I can't help but compare Kroenke's ownership of the Rams to his ownership of the most coveted winery in the U.S. (Screaming Eagle). The proverbial "Head Coach" of a winery is the winemaker ... in which Kroenke had proven that he has no problem disposing of a winemaker, Heidi Barett Peterson, who has a better reputation in the wine world than Fisher has in the NFL world, (and has a better W/L record too). So I have no doubt that Fisher will be let go ... eventually.
2b. Kroenke has the best Vineyard manager in the U.S. (David Abreu) and the best winemaking consultant in the world Michel Rolland. Rolland is the Bill Belichic of the wine world.
I have no doubt that Kroenke will obtain the best consultants and coaches for the Rams that money can buy.3. In the NFL world ...the best of the best are currently employed are they not? Kroenke just cannot fire Fisher today and hire Belichic tomorrow. It will take time for the great GMs and HC's to jockey their current contracts into being available for Kroenke to pay for their services.
BobCarl's Conclusion/Opinion: The Rams are a winning dynasty in the making, any extension in Fisher's contract is just keeping him around as a stop-gap HC. Fisher is the "Case Keenum" of the Rams coaching staff. It is just a matter of time. Decades of good times are ahead for Rams fans!
