The essence of this post is a reference to comments by Fisher.

Thing is, Fisher has, with virtually no evidence, stated for years that we have good receivers. There's nothing new in his saying this again this year, especially as the team has invested heavily in rookies. Early on at least, he is going to vamp them no matter what.

I suppose not mentioning Quick could be seen as a tell tail, but it could easily be an oversight. Remember how he forgot to mention Goff recently and then said, "How could I forget?"

Not sure I see much here worthy of note.

You know, I like what we can do in the slot and at TE. I thought we had a generally good day passing last week.

But a sound offense has got to have a viable perimeter passing game of a kind that only true WRs--not slots--can provide: sideline routes, deep crossing patterns, etc.

And I am still waiting to see that. Britt can do it, but he never seems to do it consistently. It's hard for me to tell whether it's on him or the QBs or the OL or all 3. I don't know that any of the new guys can do it, though I'm 2,500 miles away from camp and simply didn't see it last Sat.

I also don't believe that Keenum can attack those areas. I don't know whether Mannion can. Maybe. I figure Goff can, but he needs to develop.

For years and years, our passing game has sucked. But I have never had much sense of how much is on the WRs and how much is on the QBs. Some of each, to be sure, but does a guy like Britt realistically have the potential to catch 75 balls for 1,000 yards with a good QB? Or does he wander into and out of games?

Until we see a Ram QB making a lot of good, strong throws, we won't have a feeling for our WRs.
