Now THAT goes way way back. I remember him doing the L.A.Angel games when they were a PCL minor league team and played in South Central on Avalon Blvd. I also remember him doing the 1950 NFL championship game from Cleveland when Groza beat Waterfield's rams on a 49 yd FG.
I go back some, but not that far back.
I do remember Steve Bilko, one of the original LA Angels when they joined the American League, was also probably the greatest sluggers in the PCL while playing with the Angels.
The lead character in the Phil Silvers Show, Sgt. Bilko, was named after the slugger.
