A strong experienced receiver who'll be where he's supposed to be and make the tough catch for the rookie QB.
I'd like an experienced NFL LB brought in for depth too.
I'm all for the youth movement but not at safety thank you (esp if TJ isn't around).
And LB and WR look like the roster weaknesses.
If by some chance they can't make the 53, well then all the better!

There are trade offs with going in either direction, vet or promising youth.

Vet experience is nice, but what about impact to cap? And restricting youth development by taking away their snaps?

Regarding S, if McDonald is healthy and cleared to play by the league, I actually like our S position. In fact, there will be tough cuts to be made there, even after the loss of McLeod. Now, if McDonald can't play, then that's a different story.

At WR? Yeah, Boldin is a known and proven commodity. But dang! What about snaps for Cooper, Spruce, North, Marquez, McRoberts, and Williams? Don't we have to see what we've got there? They are our future, while Boldin would be a one year rental.

I like our LB situation as it is. No need to bring in a vet, IMHO. Where and when would he play, anyway? There's no vet out there that would start ahead of Tree, Barron, and Ayers. And I think our LB depth looks pretty danged good. GW had some kind words for Hager's progress and I'm a Lynch fan, too. I suspect that GW likes his LB depth and camp reports and preseason will show us why. Some great ST contributors there, as well. Nope. No LB's via FA needed, imo.

So, like I said, I just dunno.
