I DETEST thinking anything less than the playoffs no matter what state the team is in... rebuilding or not. The playoffs are the goal, EVERY YEAR.... and for over a decade it's a constant barrage of "be patient, it's coming"... because 'it takes time'. The admonition because 'that's reality'... but 'reality' is several teams overhaul overnight and make the big show. Much less taking 5 years into it. 5 years into it with high draft picks and no playoff appearance is utter failure, no matter how you look at it.
That said... I think we should make the playoffs THIS year. Please, no warnings about getting my hopes up to high... that's silly, in my opinion. My hopes are high every year... wouldn't be a fan if they weren't... I can handle disappointment... I can NOT handle a 'be patient' attitude. - JamesJM
I don't think it took 5 years. I think it took 3.
But then it got derailed by Bradford injuries and a Foles meltdown.
Plus of course the football gods said, you only get one Warner-in-the-wings per generation.
So blame the implacable stone cruelty of the football gods.
