Thoughts on Belichick's - NE's 3 passes

Belichick drafted a good QB in Jones and he's done OK as a rookie, yet in their last game, a win against a good Buffalo team, they passed the ball only 3 times! That's fascinating to me. In a game that's often dominated by passing QBs he chose to run the ball most of the time. I'm wondering if he's seeing something about the run game's effectiveness that others have missed. Any thoughts?
