I just did a blink, high level comparison of Matt Stafford's career stats with Jared Goff's. This is what stood out:
Stafford: Comp. % (62.6), TD% (4.5), Int. % (2.3), Rating (89.9)
Goff: Comp. % (63.4), TD% (4.4), Int. % (2.3), Rating (91.5)
These numbers are not different at all. Did the Rams really improve at the QB position? If so, what evidence supports that? Or is this, perhaps, a case of peoples' perception being different from true circumstance? Could the numbers be an illustration of this fact?
Considering what the Rams paid, I would have expected there to be a greater difference in the performance of the two players.
