I think he was worth more to the Rams than a very late 4th and kinda, sorta a 6th.
He's still relatively young as well. Turns 27 in Sept.
Not happy with the compensation, but I understand their desire to move on and find a better fit for the 3/4.
Am hoping, however, they make up for this by packaging some of those later rounders and trading them for earlier rounds in 2019. That's doable. Teams will sacrifice next year's picks for this year's. It's a great way to optimize your draft, year to year.
I sure hope Wade and company are confident they already have some good players on the team, waiting in the wings, like Ekuban and Littleton, both of whom showed promise last year. But this a gamble, to be sure, and they didn't exactly break the bank with ROI.
It's been a wild offseason so far, to be sure.
