If Pats win by double digits today...

January 21, 2018 07:45AM
It will be the first time since GB did it in 1996 and 1997 that a team has won all their playoff games leading up to the SB by double digits two years in a row.

The Packer won that first SB but lost the second one to Denver.

You have to go all the way back to before the salary cap in 1992 and 1993 to find a team that won all their playoff games leading up to the SB by double digits and won the SB. That was done by those overloaded Cowboys teams under Jimmy Johnson.

Those teams back then were just overloaded with talent and Jerry overpaid all his players so no other teams could take them in FA.

It is simply amazing what the Pats are doing under the salary cap and FA. To win the way they have without having an overwhelming preponderance of talent tells me that they are playing a difference game than everyone else.

The Pats are playing chess and everyone else is playing hopscotch.
