I’ve seen this coming for almost 2 years now.
Time waits for no man and Kupp’s contract was just too much.
But seriously, why did the Rams find an alternative way to keep him? That is what puzzles me.
You’re probably not gonna want to hear this, but I’ll say it anyway.
Kupp’s health was the killer part of this decision. Otherwise, Rams could have discussed a salary reduction (not a restructure)
In addition, I think McVay intends to take this O in a slightly different direction this season and Kupp’s body no longer fit the ‘new’ offense profile.
So, Kupp’s exorbitant salary was just the 3rd in a list of problems.
That makes sense and is plausible. We move on and hopefully it was the right time to make the move.
