For the Rams I don't think their OL is ready yet to hold up to the Lions front pinning their ears back. They have to establish the run or they will risk Stafford getting beat up in the opener. By the playoffs, if we see Detroit again, they will be much better in that regard. But for this opener they're gonna need a run game.
For the Lions establishing the run keeps Goff in good form. He's at his best when he's not back there sweating through third and longs. Making him hold the ball and beat them should be the Rams' defensive strategy.
Lions have a clear advantage on the OL. But I think the Rams defensive front is going to be better than anyone expects. On the flipside what concerns me is the depth OT situation, which is why I am feeling rather negative on this game. But hopefully Hav will be able to go which will help a ton.
