Apparently, the negotiating is over.
The Rams have let Jones know that they will not be extending him, which in real people talk means he will no longer be a Ram after this season.
I think ideally the Rams would prefer he stay and play out his final year. But, if he is too greatly disgruntled over this circumstance, I suppose they need to trade him if they can. I doubt they will, though, unless they get something reasonable in return. The man is under contract and if he decides not to play, then at some point it counts against his accrued time in the league and he doesn't get paid his salary and can be fined to boot.
I wonder if they IR him if they can't find a trade partner, and then re-activate after 4 weeks? This allows them to keep an extra player on the roster.
