For the most part the mentality and narrative have changed

The stuff about how much revenue a new stadium brings to a city is as thoroughly debunked as the stupid cost of the Olympics is supposed to be a financial boon to the hosting city. Nope. It will be a multi-decade drag on the economy compared with what revenue it generates.

The truth is, it was never about revenue. It was about egos and prestige of local politicians.

The lie has been exposed and the tax paying public is tapped out. I can't imagine anywhere that the public would be being willing to foot the bill for a new NFL stadium, nor their local political leaders pushing for it.

Let the league's billionaire owners shell out the money to build new or to upgrade their current stadium (that was likely built by the taxpayers 25 or so years ago). It's only the owners and the players that actually receive benefit.

Been hearing about a LOT of backlash from Cities against delusional Owners.
