Some lessons I think (and hope) McVay has learned recently…

In no particular order…

The importance of having a decent backup QB.

The importance of maintaining a strong running game rather than abandoning it in some games.

The advantage of a stud OL rather than skill player toys. Cap dollars well invested.

Do NOT fall in love with an offensive player (toy) at the expense of losing out on a sure thing player at a position of need (Humphrey)

Let Snead make the damned picks after you’ve told him the positions and player types that you prefer. 2023 draft was Exhibit A on this working to perfection.

There is strong recent evidence that McVay has absorbed all of the above, thank goodness.

I love McVay on multiple levels and do believe that he’s now learned these hard lessons. Wouldn’t swap him for any other HC with the possible exception of Reid in Kansas City.
