Jackson's on a one year deal for $4.89M and will be a free agent next year. The Rams could pick a LT this year with the thought that they can let Jackson sign elsewhere net year (while getting a comp pick in the process), then let their 2nd year LT take over.
The new guy would then get a year in the program before starting for three years on a rookie contract. Then the Rams could exercise his 5th year option if they want and have a relatively cheap LT in 2028 as well.
