The Rams are usually looking at least 1 year ahead when they draft. When you look at the WR contracts, they get really thin after this season
Cooper Kupp - signed thru 2026, but 1 more injury plagued year and he could be cut, regardless he is a restructure after the season
Puka Nacua - also signed thru 2026, he really shouldnt be going anywhere
Demarcus Robinson - signed thru 2024, FA next year (seems like no dead cap for him this year if he gets cut)
Tutu Atwell - signed thru 2024, FA next year (he can be cut this year and the dead cap is 414k)
Ben Skowronek - signed thru 2024, FA next year (can be cut this year with only 21k in dead money)
Tyler Johnson - signed thru 2024, FA next year (can be cut this year with only 75k in dead money)
Xavier Smith - signed thru 2025, but there is no dead cap hit at any point, so he can be cut at any time
So next year, in theory, it might only be Kupp, Nakua and Smith. Skow was a ST pro bowl alternate, so I would think the Rams would try to retain him. But outside of that, the WR corps gets super thin. And to make roster room for a rookie WR or 2, it doesn't take much. Johnson could go, Atwell could go, Smith could go.
