It was Coach Bonez that realized the untapped potential of Spring Football leagues and reaped a pro-bowl kicker for cheap with no competition. There is a value to being ahead of a trend and reapling the benefits. Now the Rams will have to compete for UFL talent whereas Bonez had no competition. Sort of like how the Rams mastered the comp pick thing before most NFL franchises initially and it gave them an advantage but by now that advantage is gone.
