The prosecution was not well prepared to counter the following:

1) The case should have been filed in Santa Monica which had original jurisdiction but was brought in downtown L.A. for some obvious political reasons.

2) OJ was very popular at the time and few wanted to believe he was capable of the murders.

3) The lead detective was an admitted racist.

4) No weapon (knife) was ever found.

5) The only and strongest evidence was the DNA which at the time was relatively a new police science and not well understood by the public (jurors). Indeed, the prosecution's criminologist had difficulty in explaining it which was exploited by the defense criminologist.

6)The prosecution made the fatal mistake of requiring OJ to put on the gloves without doing any background investigation into how leather can shrink.

7)The trial judge seemed overwhelmed by the defense and really lost control of the court room.

The case might have been won with a better prosecution criminologist and more focus on the Bronco slow chase -i.e. is that alone evidence of guilt to consider ?

I too believe he killed the two victims but realize it was a far more difficult case than people realize for all of the above. The prosecution needed their A team at the bench.
