True enough. I think at that time they wanted to get a cohesive unit on the field and unfortunately Allen could mot be counted on to stay healthy. Plus they know he was likely to be a cap casualty this year. Despite his limited snaps in 2023, Allen was the league's highest graded Center for pass blocking (by PFF). Shelton, not so much.
