With all this talk about the need for Edge, I think the need for DL has been seriously overlooked.
Our starting DL right now is Turner, Brown & Johnson with Murchison and Durden as backup.
Turner looked great as a rookie, but we don't know how much of that was the AD effect.
Desjuan is pretty much a rotational end. Brown is okay for a big NT, the others are JAG's.
Next year we have only Turner, Johnson and Durden under contract.
We need to add DL in the worst way, and it isn't so much a stretch to think we might go that way at #1, and possibly again at #2 or #3, relying on last years Edge draft (Hampton, Mathis) or lower picks to fill that position. Hoecht and Kier Thomas are kind of a wild cards at both positions.
Snead's got a plan, curious to see what it will be.
