It could happen. Rams drafted Greg Zuerlein from po-dunk Southwest Missouri in 2012 the same weekend they fired kicker Josh Brown. I remember Billy Devsney saying the fans would really like this guy. I think some had their doubts about him cause nobody had heard of him. Zuerlein started for the Rams as a rookie, did well, and the rest is history.
