Exactly - and the fact that Caley was not part of McVay's history speaks volumes too. So he is establishing his own coaching tree with those joining his team, recognizing that they have still more to learn after one year (ie don't copy Staley), and sticking around at least for another year.

I was also impressed that McVay did not bring back Staley. That spoke volumes too.
