The problem with LT at 19

Is twofold I think... First as pointed out above Jackson of course was a solid LT for us last season, so the need is there though it is not profound. And secondly a LT would need to fall to us who they love, otherwise the impact he would have on our offense is likely going to be lesser than a WR which is a position that should be well represented. Same goes for corner or edge as well, where hitting on either of those makes us a ton better.

So the only way the Rams pull the trigger on a tackle there at 19 is if a guy they are convinced will succeed at LT falls to them. And if that's the case then yes go get him because while that position is not sexy having a stud there is enormously valuable.

For this reason I've trended from hoping LT is the pick to acknowledging that we probably go another direction. I'd love to see it. But I don't expect it by any means.
