Yeah, it's a bit disingenuous.
It's like saying.. yeah, you were put in a bad spot.. but we still canned you and chose Fisher instead.
Then we Fisher sucked and we were looking for a head coach and we didn't even interview you.
(I could be wrong here, but I don't remember Spags on the list in the HC search. I think Rams interviewed Marrone, Wilkes, Fassell maybe Lynn and maybe those Patriots coordinators).
