McVay is such an excellent coach in many regards but his best superpower is his ability to recognize coaches who can expand his understanding of options and trends across the league. As frequently as he hires people he's worked with before, he also acquires talent from very different perspectives. The fact that his assistants quickly get promotions makes Rams Assistant Coach a preferred job in the NFL. I love that he intentionally thinks outside the box each offseason. Frankly, it keeps everything fresh. I mean, did anyone else see Brandon Staley coming, and if you did, who could predict a top unit doing things not seen before?
Yeah NFL, come and get 'em. McVay will use the opportunity to expand his systems. Something tells me he will know what he's looking for.
