I just can't see the Rams using their 1st pick for a position for which they have no need. Jackson is a good LT. And he'll be very affordable next year at about $4.5 mil is they do a 2nd round tender. So I don't care which LOT is there in round 1, they won't take him. Besides, FA comes before the draft and the Rams will have their starting LOT before the draft starts. And, they will in all likelihood also have their Edge.
What I see is that with the Rams needs, along with what is far most likely to be available, is taking a CB in round 1. A round 1 CB ought to be able to start and play effectively on talent alone from day 1. LOTs, Edges, TEs, QBs all take time to develop....typically....though there are the occasional exceptions. But, one sure doesn't want to draft based on your pick being the exception to the rule. The Rams started a bunch of guys that typically would only have been rotational players simply because they were willing to sacrifice wins for development. Not so for 2024.
