The sequence that changed the game

Campbell not going for the FG midway threw the 3rd quarter. Would have very likely put them back ahead by 17 points. That is a 3 score game with just 1,5 quarters left. Then immediatley after turning it over on downs that freaky reception by the Niners at the Lions 5 yard line that eventually led to a TD. That pass should have been intercepted but at the very least been incomplete.
From that moment on you could see this game would get away from the Lions.
I know that Campbell was aggressive all year long going for it on 4th downs but in a playoff game on the road , vs a formidable team like SF you got to take the points when you can. Plus the Niners were not doing a thing to give any indication they would suddenly turn this game around. Campbell gave them exactly the spark they needed. And that is one of the worst things a HC can do, giving the other team a spark and momentum.

Huge mistake IMHO.
