I'd say the odds are 90/10 that Allen stays with the Jags where with an extension or the Tag. So, how about the other top rated guy, Burns?
Burns had a down year in 2023. He only had 8 sacks. The same amount as our 3rd round rookie Young.
Do you go all out to pay big bucks to an 8 sack OLB? Now, if they think it was result of something that wasn't in his control that's one thing. But at the same time, how does a FA OLB with 8 sacks think he commands $20 mil per year? How might the Rams look at it? How might the Panthers look at it?
Honestly, the more I think about it someone like Hunter probably ought to be the Rams target regardless of him being 29 years old. The guy is a great player year after year after year. Or, maybe Huff or Greenard.
