I've got niners over Detroit. Too much defense. I think they'll get to Goff. I think Purdy will be exposed, maybe throw a couple of picks, but Maccaffery and the niner receivers will be too much for the Detroit secondary. That is, if the refs call a tight game.
Last time they played, the niners picked up two PI's right off the bat. The players whined i protest. The refs held their ground. Then there were offsetting penlties both ways for whatever was called - unneccessat ry roughness, unsportsmanlike conduct, I don't recall. Both side were chippy - niners starting most of it, but warnings and quick intervention by the refs quelled it and we watched a mostly clean game.
In that sort of a game I give the niners a slight edge.
If the refs don't take control early it will be a dirtfest with cheap hits deciding the outcome - the "rectal ruffians," for want of a more suitable but censorable term, on both sides could be taking skill players on the other side out. The niners, despite Judge and a couple of others, might out-bully the Lions with Hargrave, Grenlaw, and that guy in the backfield whose name I don't recall. If the refs don't take control of the game early it'll be let 'er rip in a disgusting fecal display (again for want of another term) of what shouldn't be allowed in NFL football.
I've resigned myself to just sitting back and watching a helluva football game with the Bills and Chiefs. But since you asked, an unsure slight edge to Pat Mahomes - IF his receivers catch the #$%^&* football.
