A lot of folks see this as Goff's heaven-sent chance to get revenge on McVay for trading him, essentially dumping him and his contract, in exchange for a QB McVay thought was MORE CAPABLE of winning a Super Bowl.
McVay was right about that, and everyone saw it with their own eyes in Superbowl 56 and the 3 playoff games preceding it.
The fact that Stafford is going back to Detroit, playing at a very high level, trying to bring more heart-break to Lions fans, that's a great story.
But the REVENGE OF JARED GOFF is the spicy narrative.
Of course, you won't hear anything that sounds revenge-minded coming out of Goff's mouth this week. Jared is too much of a class act.
We can all imagine he's thinking about it, though.
