just went with things I saw/see with my eyes. His tackles were pretty much down field. he rarely filled the hole, he was not a thumper. He had a high # of tackles, but the value of those tackles was not in that they were 3rd down stoppers, but just numbers on a chart. At the time the D was poor, and giving kudos to a guy who had a high # of tackles on that team doesn't really amount to a lot. I guess you could say at least he was tackling somebody.......more than the rest could say...
He was a hard worker for sure, I give him that all day, but the importance of the tackles that Jones is making in comparison, well IMO it just ain't there. Jones tackles can be behind the LOS, they are change of possession tackles. They are not a 3rd and short that ends up a 7 yard run with James dragging the runner down type tackle.
