On the other hand they could easily have lost to the Giants, Colts, and Seahawks (game 2) and been 6-10 right now. That's a couple of 1 point wins and an OT victory where a bounce of the ball could have reversed the outcome.
Does that balance out in the grand scheme? Or is every close game supposed to go the Rams way?
I said that those 3 games were winnable. I don’t think that is disputable IF McVay had done the following:
Called a better game vs Bengals,
Had a decent backup QB in place instead of the hapless Rypien.
Had a halfway decent kicker vs Steelers.
All HC self inflicted wounds.
Like I said earlier, I love McVay and he’s my all time favorite Ram HC, but he’s still learning on the job.
