My best guess is that we would have a pretty good offense to start, and that *hopefully* the young defense would get better and better as they got reps and experience.
Instead, the defense has played pretty decent (with some definite lapses) all year, and its the offense that just seems to really be rounding into form now.
Honestly guys, with the lack of TALENT and EXPERIENCE on this year's defense, Raheem has done yeoman's work getting as much done with them as he has. We basically have ONE proven lineman, ONE proven LB and a bunch of young guys in the secondary. (Does Fuller count as a proven DB? Maybe...)
We have two mid-round rookies playing solid but not spectacular on the line, and a scheme that has used what talent we have to produce.
