You have to be "impressed" sufficiently in order for a win to be worth anything to you? Heck, the Rams beat the betting odds by 1.5 points. Teams can't be expected to control the game every week. And they don't.
Overcoming adversity....accidental, self-imposed, refs calls, bad luck, injuries, whatever... is not only the key to being a winning/championship team in the NFL, its the same in all facets of life. A team that doesn't have the grit to overcome....doesn't. The Rams have grit.
Yeah, the Rams sure shot themselves in the foot a few times. They didn't play their A game. That's on them. But.... they hung in there and won. The Commanders, even though they have a bad record, are a tough out. They don't fold (they're not the Chargers) and they have some darn good players in a few spots who made some big plays.
Look around the NFL and see what is happening. Look how Green Bay folded against Tampa. How the vaunted Cowboys were stomped by the baffling Bills. How the Chiefs are so inconsistent with the best QB and a top 5 HC in the league. How Atlanta lost to the stinking Panthers with so much on the line.
The Rams weren't even supposed to be anywhere near .500. Their roster, full of holes and baby-faced players, says they should be a bottom 4-5 team. Playoffs? Playoffs? You'd have been laughed out of the room if you suggested such a thing in August/September. Yet, here they are.
All I'm saying is that yes, this is a flawed team with deficits at several positions.....including Kicker and the Secondary. The Rams know this and knew this, and it is part of a bold plan to reload. They are a work in progress and wow! What progress they have made in such a short time. Snead, McVay, and all the players are to be congratulated.
For Pete's sake enjoy this amazing Rams season! As every NFL HC says (just ask Staley, Ron Rivera, even Bellicheat), it is HARD to win in the NFL because every team is capable on any given Sunday.
