Ray Malavasi used to be on a weekly radio show that year. I had driven up from NJ to Buffalo the previous week to see the Rams lose to the Bills in OT 10-7. Ferragamo got injured in the game and was replaced by Haden. So on a whim I decided to call the station to see if I could get on to ask some questions. Told them I was calling long distance and they moved me up in the queue. Ray was very friendly and also a NJ native so that might have helped getting me on quicker.
Before I got off the line I told him that I was at the Bills game the previous week and asked him who would be starting at QB the next night against the Cowboys. He said that Vince would be in. So I tune in to the MNF game and Howard Cosell says during the intro that Haden would be starting the game. I was kind of bummed thinking that Ray BS me, but wouldn't you know that Vince did take the first snap.
