Agreed.
Will McVay stick in a tight end to help on Jackson's side? Or will he insist on keeping another eligible on the field? Is protecting your QB more or less important than play design?
McVay's response to his self-made dilemma will determine the outcomes.
Personally, I'd like to see McVay revert back to old-fashioned pound 'em football for most of the game. Lombardi's strategy against a strong pass defense was to run right at 'em. Beat 'em up through the course of the game and they'll weaken toward the end. Then you can do what you want.
On D,Flacco is experienced but never was that mobile. He has been on-again, off-again his whole career. I have a friend who is a diehard BAltimore fan. We used to wonder at game time: Which Flacco will show up? Good Flacco or bad Flacco?
Good Flacco tomorrow could be dangerous. Blitz him. Bad Flacco can be thrown off by pressure and made worse. Blitz him.
