If Wentz looks good in practice and in the meeting rooms plus perhaps gets a start or two at the end of the season when the Rams are out of play-off contention a trade down in the first round may be great move depending on what that draft board looks like. I prefer multiple late 1st round, 2nd and 3rd round draft picks over 1 top 10-15 1st rounder aside of the rare no-brainer slam dunk elite talents. The Rams still have several needs.
A top LOT, Edge and CB rank high at the top of the needs list and those are the most difficult and expensive positions to find after QB.
QBs in the first round are still a crap shoot.
I intensely dislike how McVay has managed the back-up QB situation the past several years. Teams should always be investing in decent QB prospects with mid-to-late round draft picks and carrying at least two quality prospects to see if any develop into a solid back-up that can start and manage to win some games and/or actually develop into a legit starter. It can easily take most young moderately talented QBs 3-4 yrs.. to develop. I'd seek to develop passers more like a Warner as opposed to all of these athletic freaks with more running ability and arm strength. Quick processors that make good decisions and are accurate are more valuable and a better value over time. Accuracy and timing trumps arm strength.

I have been thinking the same thing. If Wentz works out I would trade down and get multiple picks. I think we have a good base, we need depth and load up on both lines

Carson Wentz thankful for opportunity with Rams, will 'help in whatever way I can and I'm going be ready'
