I remember the debates well and in fact, I was on the Wentz-Wagon not the Goff-Cart. Anyway I remember Mike Martz comparing the two and could not stop gushing about Wentz, in fact, Martz said "Poor Jared Goff, he is not Carson Wentz." Wentz was bigger, faster, had a better arm and was working on his Masters too. Goff, had smaller hands less of an arm and could not move well in the pocket. However, Wentz's kryptonite was durability. Wentz had missed time and the fear was, running like he did might be an injury issue at the next level. Goff, even after getting pummeled, seemed to always be able to take a licking and keep on ticking. Also Goff was two years younger.
Anyway Wentz has had durability issues plus as smart as he was considered, has had some public relations missteps like buying shotguns for your offensive line, should have just gone for the watches. Anyways, soon to be 31, he is now in Los Angeles and is the best backup QB the Rams have had during the Sean McVay era as Mayfield was never a backup. Let the good times roll and at one time all of us were anti Carson, Carson California as that was the Stadium Sight going against Inglewood.
