Speed, you know as well as I do that the NFL is a business.
McVay doesn't sign players; Snead does. He might want a player, but that doesn't mean a deal can get done.
We have no idea what Wentz's demands have been or what situation he was holding out for. But now that the season is half over, and he doesn't have a job, it li8kely changes things. First, it costs no more than half as much as whatever Wentz might have wanted. Second, Wentz may be asking for much more than anyone knows and the Rams just didn't want to pay it.
So many variables and unknowns at play that we ought to be careful in second guessing.
As I said in my post, I agree that the QB back up position has been poorly handled for several years. But that doesn't make the Wentz signing a bad one, or a badly timed one.
