Please explain how he's behaving differently? I've only seen modest changes/adjustments to his approach (most coming this past off-season).
Outside of those adjustments, I see the same McVay blind spots since 2017.

Play calling (that Skow sweep on 3rd and inches is but one excellent example)
That trick play pass to Stafford in the hopeless Cowboy game. How did THAT work out?
Refusing to use 12 sets with a 3rd string QB, instead kept running the 11 sets as if Stafford was in there.
Ignoring both Hopkins and Allen even while Higbee is hurt and ineffective.
Over reliance on Kupp/Puka and largely ignoring Atwell.
Not calling enough run plays with an OL built for running, especially while starting a 3rd string QB.
But don't you see?
You've essentially made the same argument about McVay (though with different personnel) for the past couple of years, no?
These are things that you just don't like in general (I don't like some of them either) that McVay has been doing all along. He's not behaving any differently.
I think the only person(s) that may be behaving differently are you and other fans.
Whereas you've demonstrated an ability to tolerate McVay
being McVay as long as we're winning...you're less inclined to do so while going through (what appears to be) back-to-back losing seasons -
even though the team prepped you for it all off-season.Unlike Speed, I'm not quite there yet as I: A) have come to terms with who McVay is as a coach; B ) came to terms with respect to how this season might turn out after FA.
But McVay really shouldn't put me to the test either.
